2026 Q1 - Updates

Off to another strong start in the first quarter of 2026! Among the highlights:

• We prepared a letter of support for RIDOT’s application to Rep. Seth Magaziner’s office

  for an earmark to fund the installation of mini-high platforms at the station (fingers

  crossed – probably won’t know if we get it until the end of the year)

• We submitted testimony to the CT General Assembly (online) and the CT Public

  Transportation Council (in person) in support of the Shore Line East Riders’ Advocacy

  Group’s push to increase operational funding for Shore Line East

• WhatsUpNewp checked back in with us to report on our advocacy progress over the last

• Reaching out to businesses, nonprofits, neighborhood groups, and more in the greater Westerly region for letters of support that we can feature on our website

• Making more progress on our policy papers
